EPS; Earnings per share, 주당순이익

 

기업의 이익을 보통주수로 나눈 것. 일반적으로 비정상적인 항목에 대해서 그리고 잠재적인 주식 희석에 대해서 조정한 수치를 발표하는 것이 일반적임

 

EPS = (Net Income - Preferred Dividends) / End-of-Period Common Shares Outstanding

Net Income = profits = earnings

 

EPS를 계산하기 위해서는 balance sheet과 income statement가 필요. 기말 보통주수, 우선주에 대한 배당, 순이익(net income, earnings)

 

basic EPS vs Diluted EPS

Diluted EPS는 추가로 발행될수 있는 모든 주식을 감안하여 산출. 스톡 옵션, 워런트, restricted stock units 등이 발행되면 주식수는 늘어나고, 이에 따라 자본은 희석될 수 있음

EPS = (Net Income - Preferred Dividends (+or-) Extraordinary Items) / Weighted Average Common Shares

 

EPS from Continuing Operations

EPS = (N.I. -Pref.Div (+or-) Extra.Items (+or-) Discontinued Operations) / Weighted Average Common Shares
